Code Blue!

About an hour ago, a man at the nursing home where I work went into full arrest. A code blue was called and I happened to be the nurse who started chest compressions. The respiratory therapist was doing the rescue breathing and with the help of the other nurses and aids we did CPR until the EMTs arrived. We continued doing CPR while the EMTs hooked the man up to the defibrillator and shocked him. After the man was intubated, we continued chest compressions until we finally got a pulse and blood pressure. He was transported by ambulance to the local emergency room. The entire thing from the call until he was transported was only 20 minutes. It seemed to take forever and no time at all. All of us were pumped up on adrenaline. We were pretty proud when we got a "Good job, guys" from the EMTs. I hope that this man pulls through.

My new TrailBlazer!

I have been looking to buy a new car for about 2 years now. Well Wednesday I took the leap and bought one. It's a 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. It has seating for 7, which is nice with such a big family. Now each of our children get their own seatbelt! It only had 35,900 miles on it too. I got a pretty good deal on it. I know it will cost a little more in gas than the Saturn, but I don't drive that much. Plus, I still have the Saturn for longer distance travel. Liz is happy because she will get to use the Saturn after she gets her license later on this year.

I love my new car!

My Diploma

My diploma came in the mail today! It is so pretty. I think I may have to go buy a fancy frame for it and put it up on the wall. I'm actually going to make an entire display with my cap, tassel, honor cord, and diploma. I'm not very creative so I hope it works out. Pictures to come.

Mountain Man Christian

Christian has not had a haircut except for a trim in January since the end of March 2007. Recently he has been growing out the beard too. He looks like a mountain man!

My friend Chris says he looks like a homeless fellow. I think it's hilarious when people do double takes as he walks by. He is enjoying the fur. The girls scratch under his chin like he's a cat and braid his hair. If he ever cuts it or shaves I'll post those pictures.

Welcome home, camera!

So I lost my camera about 2 months ago. I was really upset because the last pictures I took on it were of Christian's parent's farewell. Yesterday Christian came walking in from school and said "Look at what I found." It was my camera! It had lodged under the passenger seat of his car. I was so happy. I almost bought a new one the day before graduation and now I'm glad I didn't. So here are a few of the many pictures that we now have.

The day Dawn and Sheldon went into the MTC.

The girls love Christian!

My house. You can't see Christian's on this pic. I'll have to take a better one so that the distance between our apartments is more apparent.

I graduated!

I finally graduated with my Associates of Science Degree in Nursing. It has been 4 1/2 long years but I can test for my RN this summer. I am already registered for my fall classes. I decided to go all the way to my Master's degree without stopping. I figure the next 6 years will pass if I get my Nurse Practitioner or not, so why not?

I did it!

Thanks for the support, babe.

You better finish college or else!

One big happy family
