I have been in serious need of a vacation for a while now. So I ended up with a few days off in a row at the hospital and Christian got Monday off at school. We're packing our bags and leaving today for San Diego. We are making a one night stop in St. George today to visit my granddad. He has had some heart problems the last few months that elevated to congestive heart failure a week ago. That scares me so much! I'll have pictures to post when I'm back.

Batman
We went and saw The Dark Knight with the kids today. It was brilliant. Not a lot of movies out there can top it. Heath Ledger became the joker. I don't think that there is any actor out there that can play that role now that he's dead. The movie had me hooked the entire time. Usually I fall asleep at the movies but this time there was no way that was happening! I recommend The Dark Knight to all of my friends.

This is the only way I'm getting married again
I told Christian today that if we were ever to get married this would have to be our minister. This guy, not some look alike. I think it is the only way I am ever going to get married again.

Election time nears
I wanted to post this video, but I am not a Jib Jab member. I think that they are great but I don't feel the need to give them money. So I give you this link instead. Watch. Enjoy.

Cure for Insomnia
Alfred Hitchcock's cure for insomnia. Not one I'd like to try. Vivantoril might be one worth trying though.

He is like a God
How many times can you say "Chuck Norris" in a one minute intro?

Tagged!
I guess this is sort of like playing tag when you are a child. My friend Ashley tagged me. I am now "it".
Rules:
Grab the book closest to you, turn to page 123 and go to the 5th sentence and post it on your blog.
Result:
"By opening a camera's shutter for a split second, you expose the crystals to light and transfer energy from the photons to the silver halide crystals." Black Bodies and Quantum Cats by Jennifer Ouellette. Christian is currently doing a research paper on interstellar travel and this is one of his research books.
I tag Ashley and Soren and Andrea and Dona. I hope that they can do it!

I passed!
I found out yesterday that I passed the NCLEX and am now a Registered Nurse! It made a fun day all the better. I wasn't sure if I would be able to find out yesterday because of the holiday and had resigned myself to wait until Monday to know. Well they posted it yesterday and I was just thrilled. My family and friends all said that they had no doubts I would pass but I sure did. I don't have to take another state board type exam again until I do my Nurse Practitioner. That test is still several years away, thankfully.

William's Birthday
William turned 8 today. We celebrated by going to the pool then having my mom, sister, and nephew over for a barbecue and cake and ice cream . William's favorite video game is The Legend of Zelda, the Ocarina of Time. So I turned it into a cake for him.
He got a Transformers hand held game from my mom, Mario Kart and 2 Indiana Jones Lego kits from me, and a gun that shoots little foam rubber suction darts from his dad. He figured out that he could stick the darts to his nipples. I took pictures so that I can blackmail him later in life.
Nipple darts
A boy and his cake
Singing happy birthday
Making a wish
Indiana Jones sets
I can't believe my youngest child is already 8. Time goes by so fast!

Tomorrow...
I take my NCLEX-RN test tomorrow, also referred to as state nursing boards. I am so freaking out nervous right now. I've been studying so much and have taken today off, trying to relax. It's not working! I was thinking maybe I'd go to the gym but Lizzie borrowed my shoe insoles and now I can't find them. The kids are camping with their dad so I can't just ask her where they are either. And I can't find the tape I use on my right foot that keeps it from falling apart while I work out. I am going to go out to dinner later, if I'm not too nervous to eat. I will post an update after I take my test. I WILL pass! (I hope)
