Katie's Prom

Katie was finally well enough to go to Prom with all of her friends from Timpview. It was a fun time for all and they had a great time. All the girls were beautiful and the boys looked great! It is so great to have our Katie well and having fun again.

Official Christmas Picture 2010

We decided to take a silly family Christmas picture this year.  We all dressed up like it was 1987 and then let the pictures come.  Our friend, Mark Johnston, took all the pictures. We had a great time doing them.

Cholesterol and Marathon training

Christian and I have both been diagnosed with high cholesterol.  I have known about mine for a little while, but he just found out last week.  Even though neither of us are insanely huge, we both pack around a few extra pounds.  Starting this week, we will be on low cholesterol diets.  I will have to figure out how to do this and have everything taste good.

Strangely enough, without knowing about Christian's high cholesterol but realizing that we needed some fitness goals, Christian and I signed up to run the Ogden Marathon with Team in Training.  They are with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and they help us train for a marathon, and in turn, we raise money for leukemia research.  I'm pretty excited for it!  I think I'm going to create a separate blog about our training adventures starting next week.  I hope to have a new camera by then since mine is not working so well anymore. 

Christmas 2010

Christmas Eve was spent at my mom's house in Provo.  We had Christmas morning at home.  It was great to have all four kids at home this year.  Lizzie spent a week with us since all of her roommates were out of town.  Drew got to stay for 10 days this year.  It was a great Christmas!

We got married!

Christian and I got married on October 2, 2010.  It was so awesome.  I could tell you, but you still wouldn't be able to believe how awesome it was.  Really.  I am so glad that so many of our friends and family were able to come and spend the day with us.  I want to have a wedding reunion where everyone who came comes back so I can hang out with them some more.  The day was like a whirlwind!  A whirlwind filled with awesome.

Just a quick update on The Family.  We bought a cute house in Orem and moved last April.  Heather graduated with a bachelor's degree in Nursing, also in April.  Christian finished his first year of aviation school and completed his private pilot licensing.  He is now working for UVU as a web developer for the Aviation department.  Lizzie graduated from Timpview High School in May and has started attending UVU.  Katie has survived transferring to a new high school.  William started 5th grade at his new elementary school and is in soccer.  Drew has begun 6th grade and got braces.  Oh, and one little thing- Christian and Heather are getting married on October 2, 2010.  This year has been crazy awesome for The Family so far.   

Avenue Q

We had the opportunity to see the Tony Award winning Avenue Q while it was touring. It came to the Capitol Theater in Salt Lake City. It was great! I recommend it to anyone. I know that there is some controversy over the language and subject matter, but I know I've seen and heard worse on prime time TV and at the mall. The message of this show is amazing- believe in yourself, love your friends, and be kind and helpful to your fellow man.
